ORF - candidacy

In 1990 Reinhart Eberhart applied for the job of C.E.O. of the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation (ORF) for the first time. Together with a photo he submitted a two-page statement to the board of trustees suggesting a comprehensive reform. He demanded the privatisation of parts of the ORF, denounced the [state-owned] ORF as "self-service shop" for politicians, and also wanted the viewers to decide whether they would accept more commercials for a reduction in fees.
As he was not invited to a hearing, Reinhart Eberhart considered a constitutional complaint because he saw a violation of the principle of equality in the fact that only 4 out of 9 candidates were invited to a hearing.
With a letter of recommendation from The Best Party, Reinhard Eberhart applied again for the job of C.E.O. in 1994, provoking anger at the nomination and selection processes that became a media embarrassment for the ORF.
